3 Lessons From the Seerah Every Single Muslim Needs to Hear Right Now

Lesson #1 - The Sahabah Didn’t Care for Age

Whether that was the women being older than the men or the men being older than the women, they didn’t look at age like we do today.

The Prophet (saws) married women who were older than him and he married women who were younger. But age was never a criteria for accepting or rejecting someone.

Lesson #2 - The Woman Approached the Men - And It Wasn’t Looked Down Upon

Yes, during the time of the Prophet (saws) it was known that women would directly propose themselves to the Prophet (saws) and the Prophet (saws) didn’t correct their behavior, so it is okay as a Muslim woman to approach a Muslim man for marriage.

Lesson #3 - They Didn’t Spend Years Getting to Know Each Other for Marriage

Some of the most beautiful love stories happened during the time of the Prophet (saws) and it didn’t mean those individuals took years getting to know each other, but their stories highlighted their high level of self awareness and they understood what they could handle and what they couldn’t handle in a marriage and hence why they were able to make a quick decision on whether or not they were truly compatible.
